Top 10 (inexcusable) excuses not to exercise

1. I don’t have the time
That’s simply not true. If you have time to watch your favorite soap on TV,
then you have the time to exercise. It’s simply a matter of prioritising and
organizing.
Make your health a priority and sit down and organised your week. With a little
shuffling and juggling, you’ll find that it’s easy enough to take 30 minutes out
everyday to exercise.

2. I have kids. I really don’t have time to exercise
We understand that being a parent is a full-time job. It’s also a job that
requires you to be physically and mentally healthy, which is why exercise
becomes all the more important. The best way to exercise with kids is to
include them in your workout. Take them to the park with you or do a fun
dance with them at home.
If the above doesn't work, take time to work out while they’re school or wake
up early to exercise. If you make it a priority, you’ll be able to make time for it.

3. I’m not a morning person
That’s OK, you can exercise any time of the day provided you do it in a safe manner.
Keep a gap between your meal and your workout and don’t exercise too close to your
night sleep time. Other than that, be it morning or evening, just put on the right
gear and go forth and exercise.

4. I’m thin. I don’t need exercise
A few years ago, scientists came out with a concept called TOFI (Thin Outside, Fat
Inside). This is a phenomenon that affects a lot of slim people who don’t exercise.
So while they have no extra weight on the outside, scans show a lot of fat accumulated
around their organs – which can also be dangerous.
Besides, exercise has many benefits besides weight loss. It helps to ward off diseases
like cancer, diabetes, hypertension; it is a great mental stimulant; it helps keep you
toned and fit and improves your sex life as well. Remember, the aim should be fitness,
not just slimness.

5. I don’t have a good gym close by/I can’t afford a gym/I’m no good at sports
If you can walk, you can exercise. You don’t need to be a member of a fancy gym or
be an expert basketball player or be able to do headstands to exercise. The easiest
exercise is walking. It also happens to be one of the most effective workouts out there, so quit your excuses and get walking!

6. I HATE exercising
If you did a survey, you’d probably find that a lot of people don’t necessarily
love to exercise. After all, most of us would rather stay in bed that extra hour
in the morning than be sweating it out in the park.
However, exercise is important. And one way to make it more enjoyable is by doing
it with a friend or joining a group class. Also, exercise needn’t just be limited to
running on a treadmill or lifting weights. Try something gentler like Pilates or yoga
and you’ll eventually find something you actually enjoy.

7. It has no effect on me
Somebody once said that diet and exercise are like the two wings of a plane. If one
is not functioning, the plane can’t take off.
In other words, if you’re trying to lose weight you have to exercise and eat healthy.
You can’t come back from your workout and gorge on two samosas and a cold coffee with
ice cream and expect to lose weight. With a little discipline, your workout will soon
start showing results.

8. My back hurts and other medical issues
Back pain is often a result of a weak core. And strengthening your core is a great
way of alleviating the pain.
If you have specific medical issues, it needn't mean the end of exercise for you.
Speak to a doctor or qualified trainer and figure out an exercise routine that’s
tailored specially around your concerns. You might find that the exercise actually
helps reduce all those aches and pains.

9. It’s so boring
Walking on the treadmill and never getting anywhere may be boring. But have you tried
playing a sport? Or checked out a dance-based exercise routine? The best way to kill
the boredom is to work out with a buddy. Ask your partner or best friend to join you
and make exercise fun!

10. I’ve never exercised before
That’s no excuse at all. It’s never too late to exercise. Start today and reap the
health benefits in the years to come.

Safety Guidelines for Mobile Phone Radiation

Mobile users are advised to take precautionary measures while using a mobile handset as:

1. Keep distance – Hold the cell phone away from body to the extent possible.

2. Use a headset (wired or Bluetooth) to keep the handset away from your head.

3. Do not press the phone handset against your head. Radio Frequency (RF) energy is
inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the source -- being very
close increases energy absorption much more.

4. Limit the length of mobile calls.

5. Use text as compared to voice wherever possible.

6. Put the cell phone on speaker mode.

7. If the radio signal is weak, a mobile phone will increase its transmission power.
Find a strong signal and avoid movement – Use your phone where reception is good.

8. Metal & water are good conductors of radio waves so avoid using a mobile phone while
wearing metal-framed glasses or having wet hair.

9. Let the call connect before putting the handset on your ear or start speaking and
listening – A mobile phone first makes the communication at higher power and then
reduces power to an adequate level. More power is radiated during call connecting time.

10. If you have a choice, use a landline (wired) phone, not a mobile phone.

11. When your phone is ON, don't carry it in chest/breast or pants pocket. When a
mobile phone is ON, it automatically transmits at high power every one or two minutes
to check (poll) the network.

12. Reduce mobile phone use by children as a younger person will likely have a longer
lifetime exposure to radiation from cell phones.

13.People having active medical implants should preferably keep the cell phone at
least 15 cm away from the implant. While Purchasing a Mobile Handset check the SAR
value of the mobile phone. It can be searched on internet if its model number & make
is known.

Natural Remedies for Reducing High Blood Pressure

Bananas - The banana has been proved to help reduce blood pressure. The average person needs three to four servings of potassium-rich fruits and vegetables each day. Some experts believe doubling this amount may benefit your blood pressure. If bananas aren't your favorite bunch of fruit, try dried apricots, raisins, currants, orange juice, spinach, boiled potatoes with skin, baked sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, and winter squash.

Canola, mustard seed, or safflower oils -Switching to polyunsaturated oils can make a big difference in your blood pressure readings. Switching to them will also reduce your blood cholesterol level.

Milk- The calcium in milk does more than build strong bones; it plays a modest role in preventing high blood pressure. Be sure to drink skim milk or eat low fat yogurt. Leafy green vegetables also provide calcium.

Cayenne Pepper- This fiery spice is a popular home treatment for mild high blood pressure. Cayenne pepper allows smooth blood flow by preventing platelets from clumping together and accumulating in the blood. Add some cayenne pepper to the salt-free seasonings listed in the Recipe Box below, or add a dash to a salad or in salt-free soups.

Broccoli-This vegetable is high in fiber, and a high fiber diet is known to help reduce blood pressure. So indulge in this and other fruits and vegetables that are high in fiber.

Natural remedies for the Digestion

Cardamom is commonly used to treat indigestion by warming and stimulating the body.
It is also useful to treat gas.

Garlic and Nutmeg are both useful for digestive issues. Try adding garlic to your
meals or make a tea of nutmeg before or with a meal.

Lettuce and spinach are rich in vitamins A, B, C, and E and stimulate the smooth
operation of the digestive tract. Add these bulky greens to your diet to assist in
proper digestion.

Dill tea helps to relieve gas, indigestion, and cramps. To make dill tea, use one
teaspoon dill seeds to eight ounces of cold water. Bring the blend to a boil, reduce
heat, and simmer for 10 minutes. Drink before or with a meal.

Lemon balm assist with digestion, especially in times of worry or anxiety.

Peppermint is well known to help indigestion, intestinal spasms, gas, and other
similar conditions, particularly in children. Peppermint leaves as a tea or added to
cottage cheese can assist in proper digestion.

Cabbage and kale are helpful for digestive problems because of the protective enzymes
they produce when eaten.

Fennel in food will help aid digestion greatly. Too much acidity in the stomach can be
regulated by drinking one cup of fennel tea. Fennel expels mucus and relieves cramps,
gas, and indigestion. Chewing fennel seed relieves hunger and eases digestion.

Cinnamon can be used as an aid for digestive processes and alleviates indigestion,
cramps and gas. See a recent post about how cinnamon can benefit other parts of your
body beyond digestion.

Ginger, sage, and bay leaf have been used traditionally for digestive disorders.

Oranges are used as a digestive remedy, aiding in the treatment of constipation.

Mustard, horseradish, and radishes are known to raise vital life forces and are
helpful in digestion because of the protective enzymes created when eating them.

Coriander is a digestive tonic and is a mild sedative. It is helpful for gas and
indigestion.

For slow digestion, take the Homeopathic Lycopodium (club moss)

Papaya leaves versus Dengue virus

Papaya leaves juice are a possible cure for dengue fever, a recent study revealed.

It has been reported that many people consume papaya leaves or pegaga juice to
increase their platelet count after they contract dengue fever.

A recent study, conducted by a group of researchers from local and foreign
universities, indicated that the powder from papaya leaves has substances
responsible for the release and/or production of thrombocytes (platelets).

The study was initiated and led by Dr S. Kathiresan of AIMST University. Dr
Kathiresan said the leaves of papaya fruit were high in complex vitamins that
might help bone marrow to rapidly increase blood platelet production.

“The dengue virus’ main effect is on platelet production. Normally, a platelet
in our body lasts for about five to 10 days and the body replenishes them when
required,”

“This virus destroys the body’s capacity to produce new platelets (during the
period the virus is effective). The platelet count for a normal person varies
from 150,000 to 250,000 per micro litre of blood. On becoming infected, a patient’s
platelet count starts falling.

“A platelet count below 100,000 per microlitre is alarming – immediate medical
attention is required. A platelet count below 50,000 can be fatal,” he added.

A fall in the platelet count prevents formation of clots and this leads to
haemorrhaging, which results in both internal and external bleeding.

How should Take~

Accordingly it is raw papaya leaves, 2pcs just cleaned and pound and squeeze
with filter cloth. You will only get one tablespoon per leaf.. So two tablespoon
per serving once a day. Do not boil or cook or rinse with hot water, it will loose
its strength. Only the leafy part and no stem or sap. It is very bitter and you have
to swallow it like that.

Health Benefits of Pineapples fruit

Pineapple stores many compounds, minerals and vitamins that are essential
for optimum health. Here are some health benefits of Pineapples fruits.

1. Its flesh contains no saturated fats or cholesterol; however, it is rich source of soluble and insoluble dietary fiber like pectin.

2. Studies have shown that consumption of pineapple regularly helps fight against arthritis, indigestion and worm infestation.

3. Pineapple consists of 80% of vitamin C. Regular consumption of foods rich in vitamin C helps the body protect from scurvy; develop resistance against infectious agents (boosts immunity) and scavenge harmful, pro-inflammatory free radicals from the body.

4. It also contains vitamin A and beta-carotene levels. Vitamin A is required maintaining healthy mucus membranes, skin and essential for vision.

5. It also contains Potassium, magnesium or copper. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids, helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure. Copper is a helpful cofactor for red blood cell synthesis. Manganese is a co-factor for the enzyme superoxide dismutase, which is a very powerful free radical scavenger.

Six Ideas to Make Money Fun for Kids

Instilling good money habits in your children is arguably one of life's most important
lessons. Fortunately, with today's technology, there are many ways to make learning
about money fun for kids of all ages.

Teaching your kids about money should start as early as possible. "As soon as your
child starts asking for things, I think it's time for them to understand that things
cost money," says Anton Simunovic, founder of ThreeJars.com, a website dedicated to
teaching kids about money management.

But what lessons should you start with? Neale Godfrey, author of Money Still Doesn't
Grow on Trees: A Parent's Guide to Raising Financially Responsible Children, suggests
beginning with the concept that money must be earned. "There's no entitlement program
in life," she says. "Kids need to know that they can't just whine for a toy in a store
and automatically get it."

As kids begin to learn about money, parents shouldn't feel intimidated. "The topic of
money shouldn't be something that's taboo," says Jayne Pearl, author of Kids and Money
Guide to Learning Capital. If you're uncomfortable talking about it, she says, it won't
be an enjoyable experience for the kids.

You should also be careful not to argue about money in front of your kids.
"If the parents are constantly arguing about money, their children are going to view
money as a source of stress," says Jon Gallo, who coauthored the book The Financially
Intelligent Parent with his wife, Eileen.

1. Use cash. Showing kids purchases with a credit card won't do much good, the Gallos
say. "Don't [buy items] on credit cards or with checks, because that's completely
abstract," says Eileen Gallo. "Let your kids hold the money and see the money leaving
their hands."

2. Utilize a piggy bank for the 21st century. A traditional one-slit piggy bank doesn't
teach kids much about money management, says Susan Beacham, CEO and cofounder of Money
Savvy Generation in Lake Bluff, Ill., a company that helps parents and educators teach
children to make good money choices.

"A lot of times, piggy banks make kids very distrustful," she says. "If kids can't see
through it, they don't trust that the money is in there." So Beacham developed the
Money Savvy Pig, a see-through piggy bank with four slots: save, spend, donate, and
invest. With the Money Savvy Pig, kids learn that money isn't just accumulated to buy
things.

3. Take advantage of the Web. The Internet is full of age-specific money games for kids.
Just last year, Sesame Street and a bank teamed up to create fun videos and games that
teach kids about money. Many children will find it easy and exciting to learn about
money from Elmo and his friends.

4. Let them play games. Beacham says games are an excellent tool for approaching the
topic of money with kids. "Games become something you can use to open the discussion,
so it's not always you preaching about money," she says. Grade-school children can play
Planet Orange at OrangeKids.com. In the game, kids travel through the planets by
completing certain jobs to earn money for gas.

5. Empower them to manage their own money. Let your child play an active role in how
money is used by offering them an allowance. But consistency is important: Many parents
promise an allowance to their kids but don't deliver. If parents forget to pay the
allowance, children learn that money promises can be broken. Beacham says this can
potentially lead the child to think somewhere down the road, "Hmm, maybe I don't have
to pay my credit-card bill on time this month."

6. Encourage them to give back. Giving to charity is fun for kids because they are
instinctual givers, says Beacham. In addition to having your child donate money
(to a charity of their choice), make philanthropy more enjoyable by getting the whole
family involved. Volunteer together or participate in a fundraiser at the neighborhood
park.

Above all, don't be afraid to talk to your kids about money. Says Godfrey: "Our kids
see us handling money every day, but we often forget to talk to them about what we're
doing."

Virtues to Remember in Life

1.) HUMILITY - Since every beginning is a process of discoveries, a genuine need to understand what you do not know yet is important.

2.) SINCERITY - It won't be helpful to pretend to be somebody that you are not. Being real is something that people will easily find refreshing and friendly.

3.) INDIVIDUALITY - There is a difference between man-pleasing and pakikisama. You are as unique as everyone, so pleasing other people all the time will only rob you of your uniqueness.
